Funnier than most prolly realize! I've instructed for the Corvette club. There are more than a few that are only "fast" when the wheels are straight!! !!

I seem to remember one that chased me and most everyone else in Red down with ease. IIRC he gave even well driven GT-2's a damn hard time all the while sounding real Good.

Wow congrats Colin! Curious to see how this thing does out there. Also interesting read about the new manual brake setup. That may take a bit of on track testing.

I just signed up for the Instructor Day, hope to see u and the SS there! I got a little something different for this year too... if I ever have time to get it track worthy

I said, "hell no, I don't feel comfortable with that" to which he responded, "fine, make it 7000 then." If I could rev this thing to 6700, I'll be a very happy man indeed -- especially considering the redline from the factory was like 5500.

I have a 2007 with the 6 liter engine and the redline is 6500.

Yeah, you should probably go ahead and shift around 1,500 just to be safe. Sort of idle it around. Lift at the start/finish and coast it down to the carousel. A liitle blip after 9 and do it again. No scaring the children or breaking any windows as you blast past at WOT.

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend! I'll be there, though unfortunately I will likely be without the car (barring a miracle). I have to travel to Atlanta last minute, so that'll eat a chunk out of my week. And I'm still trying to get this darn throttle issue sorted. Making progress (at least, I think) but still can't get it to work. Gah.

If it weren't for the virtues of plugging into the CAN bus (which requires I run an electronic throttle), I would've gone to a good, ol' fashioned throttle cable a long time ago.

Looking forward to seeing your new toy -- will it be there this weekend?

Ah, so it is. You sure you don't have the super deluxe version with the fancy high-revving engine?

Amusingly, the Trailblazer SS, which shares the same block/internals/cam, the redline is 5500 IIRC, so perhaps that's where I got that from.

Dude, this thing scares children at idle. Thought about throwing a straight pipe on there just for grins but for now I'm sticking with the muffler. Don't know if it's doing anything though?

Had a fun time shaking the car down this past weekend at the instructor day + HPDC. Other than a weird noise coming from the clutch/bellhousing area (I plan to investigate today), the car ran phenomenally. And in doing some reconnaissance with other drovers on track, I was able to confirm that the car seemed clean as a whistle.

Have a dyno day planned on April 6 to tune the car. Wasn't paying close attention to the AFRs but the car feels really excellent with the tune it has. Pretty quick, too.
