New characters were great when mixed with familiar faces. Yes I am one of the millions who like BB-8 too. Daisy Ridley, yes she's a keeper. J.J. Abrams went a long way to undue all the wrongs of last three and put them in the review mirror for good.
And Carrie Fisher's plastic surgeon needs to find another line of work.

My brother-in-law-in-law (my brother in law's brother) was the top marine on the Ike when it was a copter/Harrier ship. But the recent refit was a major change. Neat video, Dave.

Yes, I was wrong (again). I just spoke to him--it was the Essex (5th ship of that name), at the time a brand-new ship (maiden voyage and all). He said it was really neat, with everything brand new. He has hardly small potatoes on the boat - my nephew went on a Tiger Cruise with him and I remember him describing Bill's 3-room suite with an extra bedroom for his aide.
As a Wasp-class ship, it is quite a bit smaller than the Ike...but still bigger than my Force 5 was.
