That's a race car - is that what the OP was looking for? I haven't seen many SP996's on the east coast, but I'm surprised because it's an affordable way to race a SPEC Porsche (identical suspension, tires, engine (hopefully). I considered one, but didn't see many (any!) at local club races.

very popular on the left coast - not so much out here.

the original one that I turned 'stache on to was in Toronto. The guy had is posted on the PCA site and it was a super deal at $20k. Very well built and tons of the right features.

I assume it sold since the ad was removed. attached are some of the detailed shots he sent me

Yeah, both of those are pretty, and I was excited about the Canada one.

The Homeland CFO advised me to hold off on shopping at the moment. She is making sure that the Educational Housing Fund for Dependents is up to snuff first.

So, has anyone actually titled a car that's been brought over from Canada?

Aaron (chaosrogue) and I want to make sure we have all the paperwork lined up before we go pick up the 914/6 race car (a real one) in upstate NY.

Also, do you guys know if it would be easier to have a shipping company bring it down from NY to DC, rather than driving 7 hours each way?

if it is a running driving/not leaking car you could probably get that done for 6 or 700... Only issue would be that a lot of trucks don't head very far north to get it. I say do the drive, sounds like fun.

I have done both.

I shipped a car from Ohio (around same distance as upstate) and as Casey mentioned it only costs 600-700. You issue would be how to coordinate the seller to meet with the shipper (since the seller prob don't want to hang around a long pick up "window".)

I have also imported a car from Canada to DC. The car was my parents' but getting it registered in DC was surprisingly painless. A signed over title, a quick emission test (which you prob don't need one) and a Bill of sale (which I didn't need since they allow transfer between family members) were all that was needed.

Well, the deal is done, and it's looking like the meeting place is a mall parking lot 10 minutes into a foreign land (just past the Lewiston, NY border crossing). Now I just need a trailer and someone who's willing to sit in a car for the 15+ hours it'll take me to get there and back, since all driving and no talking make ChaosRogue something something. Who's interested? We're probably shooting for the weekend of Halloween, although nothing's been set in stone yet, so 11/6-7ish is still open as well.

HAHA!
