Default Sold 930, now what?

Well a couple of you know that I sold my 930 to a very good home. Now I have this urge to rush out and buy.........buy what ???? I have a real soft spot for a 993 c4S or a 993TT. Any opinions on the reliability of the C4S? I know the path of the twin turbo. Something tells me to be patient and wait for just the right car.

993tt's are my choice. There were at least 4 of them on the track this weekend. I love them and will own one someday.

Try one of these

or any of the Shelby's behind this one. You'll also need a trailer and tow rig, fuel cans, safety equip ....

I've recently heard from a dissatisfied 996tt owner that 4wd cars have an achilles heel in the form of tire availability. If you do not keep the front-to-rear rolling ratio the same as factory, you may end up w/ a worn out differential.

Do you want to track the car? Make sure there are track tires available for it....

If not, nevermind.

Dave, that's all the more reason to pull the front drive shaft from the TT's, save 100 lbs., make the diff. last longer and just make it a 2WD car.

LOL, now you're talking.... didn't think of that... is it an extensive mod or just plain 'ole removal?

edit: in fact, which is more work? removal of parts or stuffing a tt motor into a C2 or C2S?

I would think a TT motor would drop right into a C2S, since they're the same bodies. May need a different decklid though. I'd actually prefer a stealth TT with no whale tail.

They are not the same for the 993, 996 or, presumably, for the 997. To which model are you referring?

If you are talking about the 996, the C4S and the TT body is wider at the rear than the C2 and Targa body. There is no C2S for the 996 (that started again with the 997).

I don't think it would fit. Plus, I think you would have a problem getting enough cool air for the intercooler if you don't have the gills.

993..... todd, the bodies are not the same fender-wise but i think the engine bay is identical for all 993/996 chassis

yeah, no tail or a duck would be nice w/ a tt
