My car has been sitting for a couple of weeks. I had the battery hooked up to a tender. I began hearing a faint alarm horn sound. I do not have a key for the alarm in the drivers side door. But since I've had the car the alarm has never activated before. I managed to get the car started took it for a spirited 30 minute to charge up the battery thinking low battery voltage could be the cause. The horn beeped a couple of times during the first couple of minutes but then quieted down for the remainder of the drive. After the drive I hooked up a multimeter to the battery and it registered 12.6 volts with the ignition off.
I then attempted to restart the car the alarm began to sound. I removed the the battery ground and positive cable and hooked the battery up to the tender unit to fully charge the battery. With battery charged reconnected battery and started the car and the alarm immediately went off. Is disabling the alarm control unit an option to consider? Thanks much Todd
