Default Virginia state inspection

Can anyone here recommend a place to perform the annual state inspection required in Virginia?

I'm in Arlington, and the local gas station inspection guys (who I do let inspect my VW's) are just total morons. 100% idiots they are. I've tried a few different places but they're all just the same. For example, I see them trying to start the car, while it's in 1st gear, with one foot on the brake. I hear them grinding the gears looking for reverse. These guys are just stupid, stupid, stupid. I complain to the manager every time but they don't really care.

Anyhow (I'm finished ranting now), I will soon be needing to take my new-to-me Carrera in for annual state inspection, and I really REALLY don't want to let these animals near it. Are there any inspection places in NoVA that have competent workers??

I take my cars to the Mobil station in downtown Vienna. I forget the address, but it is close to the Community Center, Whole Foods Market, Magruders, etc. Have not had any problems with them mistreating my cars.

Welcome.

There is Citgo on the corner of Wilson Blvd and Roosevelt Blvd. The inspector was quite careful with my car. He passed the car even though it had some minor issues he possibly 'overlooked'. Think he was appreciative I wasnt breathing down his back while he was doing his job. BTW: I watched him pull it in to the bay from the parking space..........he took his time, trying to be careful, then I let him be.

How stickly do they follow the rules for inspections in NoVA? I used to have a place where I'd walk in, say it's safe and I just did some work, they'd walk around it with the engine running and lights on, then they'd replace the sticker. I have to get my 928 inspected next week and right now the wiper motors and backup lights don't work. It also won't have a cat installed when it gets inspected.

Too strict at the crappy inspection places that I've been. My Passat just failed inspection because it has a cracked fog light lens. A fog light lens!

I really need to find a new inspection place. Thanks all for the pointers so far!!!

The place I went to. Is not far from Cutty's in chantilly....It was right down the street. Not sure what that main drag is (Street)...It was either a Shell or Sunoco. On the right side as you are heading towards Cutty's. It was the first one on the right side. They will get you for a cracked lens...Even if you do not even use them. That is standard in VA. I have found in the past the farther you go outside of the main cities the better...
