Found this mess on a parts car I bought. The tops of the tie rods are worn flat as well. There certainly is a wide range of automotive competence out there.

Nice lift, looks the same as mine.

But I use three or four tall jackstands under mine, just to be safe, either because I'm a nancy or a safety wonk. I'm going with safety wonk.
