993s did have aerokit. Nader is running it. What is stupid about the rule is GT3s have a wing yet they can keep them. So the 997s running in J who have the aerokit would now be moved to K. Why should GT3s be allowed to run them but not 997s. Same P/W but because their wing was an option they cant run it. Stupid. Guess the good ole boys club shut down having to change the GT3s and why the worded it as aerokit. The downforce of the aerokit wing is minimal because it sits so low. Wont effect my laptimes. I just think it looks good

Ah. I can see that. Boy some people are going to be pissed. But if everyone in class is running the aerokit then why change it now? No one has an advantage so why spend the money or why bump the whole group up a class?

In the grand scheme of things there are a lot of things that werent standard but could be optioned that are allowed in the stock classes and even some unavailable mods such as LSD in cars like the Boxster in E and F. 15 inch wheels on E 911s that effectively circumvent the not allowed ring and pinion change. Stuff like that. Sometimes I just dont get the rules committees reasoning or consistency.

Also spoilers arent free. Inthought there was a limit of 1 inch beyond the rear bumper or something like that. Basically you can run the 74 IROC spoiler in E.

I do beleive that 993s did have aerokit options. The gt2 had a wing.

None of this effects me in my spec class anyway .

993's had two Aerokit options. Aerokit I was basically a flat wing turned up at the end. My hot rod has the Aerokit II which is the wing that was standard on the turbo S models. As you can see air flows on both sides. This cover is significantly lighter than the motorized spoiler.

+1, the aerokits (turbo look) were option E21 and E22, plus they were offered as Tequipment.

Dumb. I get the weight increase for H (sorry Ryan), but the wing rule doesn't seem to make much sense.

Hell Ryan, you may pick up a mile-an-hour or so on the straight by getting rid of the wing. May as well try and be as slippery as possible.

Also weight loss for 993's -- that's good to hear. Had a good conversation with Walt back in Aug re: proposed rule changes for a few of the classes. Hope it helped.

Ice Mode. All cars not in the GTC class with ABS systems are allowed to install one or more modifications:

a) A reset switch may be installed. Anyone know more about this?
b) The brake booster diameter may be reduced to achieve a 3.5:1 ratio with part number 996.355.923.90, the master cylinder bore may be increased to 25mm with part number 997.355.910.30, or both.
c) PASM may be disabled by disconnecting its multi-pin. PASM? Or PSM? What is the multi pin? Yaw disconnect isn't multi, so what is this?

Reset is basically a switch on the power lead to the ABS. Switching power off and on resets it.

Yaw sensor is multipin. Just disconnect it behind heater controls.

What is funny about these rules, is all the caymans are already doing this.
