Ask around a work, Steve. Starting soon, there's one Century or another every weekend. There's supposed to be a great one out of Berryville VA, I believe later this month. Right near the deerfest.

It'll evaporate…

Besides, the Rt 28 lot is at mile marker 24.5 and going west the numbers increase.

Light rain doesn't bother me, especially on a flat and straight trail. Just don't like the downpours and the loud sparky things!

But, consistent with your second point, if it's a hard-core, spandex-clad, Tour de France wanna-be, then they're not going to deviate course nor velocity for anyone. And then there are the packs of spandex-clad-riders .........
Is every guy that goes to the track a Schumacher wana b? No. I ride with groups on the road form time to time. Can't say I have met any militant armstrongs along the way. Have met a lot of guys that want to go from place to place without getting run over. Spandex does not mean wana b. it means the wearer is using the right gear for the job just as some one at the track wears a helmet or driving gloves at a DE.

Sorry my office is at 19. I can throw a rock, like a girl even, and hit the path. I have my son's football scrimmage tonight so I will pass and hope the sparky things stay away for both of us.

Fat guy in racing suit is different than fat guy in spandex. Just is.

Of course not. But you do acknowledge that there are "militant armstrongs." What percentage of them were wearing spandex? So perhaps I was being redundant.

A friend of mine explained that the stigma of spandex has little to do with the spandex itself. Rather it is that the wearer is often occupying the same space (coffee shop, rest area, park) as people in street clothes. If you walked into a Starbucks wearing a football uniform, swimming speedo or baseball uniform, you'd draw similar attention. The utility of the clothing is obvious.
