Agree with Steve. FoFos are terrific cars; don't let this board dissuade you. And in the lower run groups in particular, it's fun passing the faster cars with displays of sheer driving might.

Just think Michael, you'll be owning the guys in your current run group in no time in that car. Then when you're in white your 997 will be finished up at the shop.

You should keep the thing for another year until my daughter turns 16 and gets interested in a track car.

Default My Mechanic is a Prophet?

A few months ago, I told my mechanic that I won't do Summit Point anymore because of the fauna issue. I've only done SP twice and both times had seen deer hits. One guy had 1/3 of his whole car covered in blue tape to protect it. The tape was no match for the deer and the car had some serious damage. I'm sure the driver was shaken up pretty well but wasn't harmed otherwise.

Last year, I sent an email to SP asking if and when they were going to do something about the animal issue. They replied that they were addressing the situation. I replied back wanting to know what exactly they did or were going to do. Never got a reply. I sent that message a second and third time and still, no reply.

Here' the weird part...
This morning I put a Post-It note on my kitchen counter that has a reminder for me tonight to cancel a DE at NJMP and replace it with one at SP in October. This, despite my previous thoughts about never driving here again. But an hour ago, I got a text message from my mechanic with a link to this video. Is that a creepy coincidence or what!?! Is my mechanic a prophet?

Would I be remiss to even suggest a boycott of Summit Point until they can prove they've done something?

Would be useful to know if the deer problem is getting worse at SP, and if so, why.

Does Potomac PCA keep any records of "events" at DE's? If so, that could be used to generate a metric to know how the number of deer strikes is trending.

Alternatively, we could check twitter to see what the deer are tweeting

Potomac has such records, and I'll check into that, but our use of the track is only a small fraction of all the track days there each year, so our data may not provide a 'representative sample' for relatively infrequent events such as deer strikes.
