There's a massive Pantera group in AZ, oddly enough. Love those cars. At some of the larger car shows, you'd see 20-30 of the suckers. My favorite was one example with 180-degree headers. Best sounding carbureted V8 I've ever heard.

Pantera or Fiat X1-9. I would have also listed the Mitsubishi Starion Turbo.
I don't think the 914 is underrated.

I totally agree with the 914. I love these cars and the prices are still easy to stomach.

I looked into doing a pantera as my next project. Even the rust buckets are $25-35K to rich for my blood. You see them alot down at Katies and a few times up at Hunt Valley C&C. I had a buddy do a complete concourse resto on one. Took him 5-6 years. Car was better then stock. Took it to FL for a concourse de elegance and brought home best of show.

Panteras bug me for some reason. A big old pushrod V8 in an Italian exotic strikes me as cheesy, like a factory kit car. My image of a Pantera owner is a steroid using, hair plug, gold chain wearing guy with a Jersey accent. But hey to each his own.
