Thanks. that takes some of the stupid factor out. How many cars ended up getting dinged up?

The car that was hit square in the pass door in T1 is most likely being written off, and the assault weapon car is pretty banged up in the front, but fixable.
Two more cars hit and need minor repairs.

I was specifically thinking of you, and also the guy who forced me off at SP in the enduro (who wouldn't even talk to me - turned his back on me and walked into his trailer). But they were all, as you say, 1-on-1 accidents.

When I started racing, I was told both at NASA and PCA that you are responsible for your own car. I'd like to think that if I caused an accident I'd be in a position to pay, but taking out 4 cars could be prohibitive. Guess we all need to be a little more careful. There have been stories over the years of guys who had serious money and raced like they were in the pros (the sponsored pros), causing carnage frequently and not minding the 13/13s.

it all depends on the drover's character.

this one may not have had skill/experience/forethought/racecraft/mental capacity, but at least he's got character

i guess.

The circumstances leading up to this particular event are pretty crazy...a strange series of events and conversations that happened before anyone even strapped into a car for the race. The major parties involved are all very good friends with each other and also good friends of mine.
Shit happens. A driver made a poor split second decision and there were some serious consequences. Luckily, no one was hurt. And that driver is doing his best to make things right with the people involved.

Sorry }{, but I do not agree with your "character" assessment. No one should expect to have their car fixed, nor one should be expected to pay to fix another car, no matter how cars get bent.

I have hit another car and have offered a small amount towards fixing the car, but I do not believe that I am likely to make that offer again.

just my $0.02

Same here. Know all those guys and they really are great guys. The guy who is being referred to as the kamikaze drover actually wrenched and spent a huge amount of time repairing the T-boned car from the day before. Totally sucky situation and feel bad for all involved. More importantly though, no one was hurt.

And how did the crash video make it on Rennlist? Dont they need permission before posting?
