Default Thank you for your welcomes....

@Black Talon - I am looking for a running driving 912 (or one that has been sitting for a long time that I can get running) that needs DIY work, even somewhat substantial. What I am not interested in a full restoration project that is in boxes as I have neither the time money nor space.

@Patrick- I am currently looking at a 912E that needs interior work, light engine work and some exhaust repairs (what 912E doesn't). The price is right... but it is in CA which adds about 1000 in shipping costs and that eats a bit of the money I have set aside for parts. Again, I am not looking for a show car, just something to drive on the weekends and have my kids learn about how things work.

@John- I would love to help this spring! Speaking of which, I have been thinking lately that we need some sort of auto shop co-op in upper MoCo where people can work on their own car with all the necessary tools there... Maybe that is because I just don't have a garage in our townhouse (but we are looking to move soon so that will be a requirement!!!)

Is there ever a big Dorki party? If not, there should be. Hell, I would even host but I'm pretty far north.

Once the weather warms and track season gets rolling, I fairly frequently have garage get togethers to get cars ready for track. I'm just a bit south of you. Bring beer.

Never introduced myself, though I have been 'spotted' in the thread here!

I'm Skip and have a mostly original paint 1985 Guards Red 911, ~55k miles. I walk or bike to work so it's not a DD. I am a former E30 325i and E36 M3 owner who has been brought into the Porsche fold. Hoping to make a couple autocrosses this year.

Sometimes it would take longer to get my office on K Street across M during rush hour than it would just to bike all the way home I do street park in the neighborhood north of M every once in a while when the weather is really hot.

Default Introduction

Hello all, It seems I have been remiss and have not made a formal intro. I have been off and on this site for about a year. My Name Is Dave and I live in St Mary's County. Many of you know me, I have been with potomac for almost 6 years going on my 4th year at the Track. I drive a 2006 speed yellow Cayman S, the one with the primer front bumper cover, soon to be repainted. I am also an instructor. I think I may be more infamously known as the guy who drove chopper dropper into the tire wall at VIR turn 5A a few years ago. hence the primer bumper cover. But to my defense B-Man told me in order to get promoted you have to show calm nerves with any off track excursion or as as you crash, done. I did get promoted...eventually. I also have a 1989 911 Cab in guards red with black top, my favorite and most reliable car ever.
This is a great site with extremely knowledgable and witty members, love it.
