I will have to find the link but there is a lilnk of about 200 photos from Summit Point main back in the early 70's. I've flagged that track since 1988, know almost every gopher hole and rock and couldn't recognize many of the turns because the layout of the land was so different back then. I'll check my home PC and post the URL tonight if I can find it.

Sorry, no pics. I did my first DE at Upper Marlboro in 1966 (356 B roadster) and several years prior to that I had the Abarth muffler stolen off my MG A while it was parked at UM while I was spectating a race.

Richard: I am sorry this took longer then the weekend. I had to get back to work Monday to remember where I had posted this link. These are photos from 1974. 111 of them on this site. I don't know who owns the rights but the photos are amazing.

Richard,
I contacted my uncle who drove VIR in the 60's and took pictures and Super 8/16 video. The soonest I can meet with him is July 12 - what's your timeline for getting the digital images?

Cheers, Chip T

Chip T (and others): There's no real deadline on this Summit Point piece of the series. I haven't yet published the Marlboro piece, although I'm expecting it to go in the September issue. This would put Summit Point article in the October issue with a deadline of Sept. 1. Thanks for all the replies and photos.

Kudos on the dV article on Marlboro...I've always liked looking at info on it's history, now I have a lot of info in one place.

Good work!
