I merely stated that the sealant that the RV store sells as vibaration resistant is likely a marked up version of the HD stuff. There is nothing about my purchase intent.

You guys have your heads up your butts with this 'designed for vibration' nonsense.

Any good urethane or silicone sealant is designed to accomodate cyclical movement. Class 25 accomodates 25% joint movement, Class 50 accomodates 50%, etc. Stuff made for roofs of RVs are typically membranes and not joint sealants. The talk of RV roofs just confuses the issue.

Marine clean is the best prep cleaner I ever ran across. You could also use great stuff expanding foam to fill any voids,trim up and do a final cover up with a paint-able silicone.

tape the seam with helicopter tape and be done with it.
