Looking to borrow a 1/2" drive 10mm allen socket to remove the allen bolts that secure the front shocks to the wheel carrier.
Also may need a 150lb+ torque wrench. I think mine only goes up to 150lbs. |

I have the 1/2 inch allen socket (in Fairfax). I don't know how high my torque wrench goes. How far above 150lb does it need to go (so I can check tonight)

I have a 3/8" Drive, but you could possibly use an adapter.
How tight? Another option would be to put a piece of a 10mm allen in a 10mm impact socket. I made a long 10mm (I think) for the barrell nut on the starter. The weld broke last week so the 2 piece are apart again. Remind me when I call you later. If I can dig it up, I'll bring it by.

I have a 3/8th. assumption is that it will not do the job. The write up specifically calls for a 1/2" and a 150lb torque wrench. |

If you have a 10mm 1/2 inch, hope you don't mind parting with it for a couple of days. I'm in Falls Church, and can pick it up any time it's convenient... |

speaking of tq wrenches.... i have one that goes to 250 and love it and would like to continue my "collection" starting w/ the small one for the smaller jobs.
the one i am considering starts at 20# and goes to 100, is that "not low enough" for some jobs? (i believe valve covers are in the 'teens right? rotor-to-hub is somewhere near 18# i think, but would it kill it if it was torqued to 20?) just thinknig out loud, thanks. |

I think valve covers are less than 10 something like 7-8.
Dumb question, but what is the conversion from inch lbs. to foot lbs. Can't be that obvious. I think mine goes from 10 - 100 and I bought a chepo at Harbor freight which is inch lbs.
