Ice pedal is known. Happens in BMWs also. The key is trying to program out, or minimise the inputs to the PSM/ABS to prevent it, as you can't program the ABS. Grand Am petitioned to allow ABS change to motorpsort ABS (both in BMW and Porsche) because of all the wrecks caused by it in '05. With the incorrect master cylinder, it was going to ABS every corner, and causing Icemode almost every time. Once that was changed it reduced it. Then the programming/bias/yaw sensor helped a bit. We'll keep working on it until it get down to street car levels. Over last 6 years tracking street Gt3s it only happened to me about 4 times total. When you change suspension, tires, pads, calipers it has huge impact on the ABS/PSM system. Porsche designed abs around these factors, so no chance of "contacting" Porsche and complaining. Unfortunately it's going to be a lot of trial and error trying to get thru this. Thew Bodymotion proprietary fix isn't really proprietary, and doesn't completely fix it. They put an on/off switch on the yaw sensor. We actually just disconnected it. BodyMotion was actually the team which lent us their PIWIS at Sebring.

Thanks Ryan, Anything else you learn about the issue please share. BodyMotion had told me at the Club Race last year that they had an additional software tweak to the switching/disablement of the yaw sensor. Anyhow, I'll be taking it back to Intersport soon to have it looked at more. I've also been experiencing the much to early wheel lockup issue recently which has been contributing to the frequency of the ice pedal problems.

LOL. That is from the race warmup session where I had no ABS and tires were locking up. That's first lap and I'm already coming back in to pits (T17, you can see my hand out the window)

Small update on "Ice Mode". Looks like the only real solution is probably to replace the ABS unit with either a Teves MK60 or Bosche M4. Both big $$$$. Charlie spent a long time yesterday talking with GMG, BGB, a few others about it. then called Ray (CR compliance) about getting an aftermarket ABS approved for Stock Class (impacts 997, caymans). Since it's a safety issue, sounds like they are going to try and get an emergency rule change done. Downside is it's going to cost . We'll see how this plays out.

Is there a guarantee that this will solve the problem ? I'd hate to see you spend big money and have more frustration.

What are the factory Cup cars using? Do they also suffer "ice mode" ? Or do they NOT have ABS? Or are they missing stability management stuff?

They are using their own Porsche Motor sports units. I believe they are built by Bosch. Stability management ? Fuhgetaboutit .....

No SM makes sense. I wonder how many Cup buyers opt out of the ABS?

So basically, the OEM street version is overwhelmed with too many systems, that are not easy to turn off. Did this begin with the 997 versions? Or did the 996's suffer too? I've never heard GoodHands complain about "ice mode".
