Pretty much all the 996 guys run the X51 pan with baffles. Some run the Accusump. Never seen anyone get called on it.
Charlie calls BS on the accusump.

Latest status:
Suspension:
Motons finally showed up about 2 weeks ago. Charlie did some test fitting and they were shipped without sleeves. WTF!!! How do $6k+ shocks get thru quality control missing those. Had to put suspension on hold for a while until they showed up. Charlie just got rear suspension almost complete on Friday. Going to do the Front on Monday, so car should be back on it's wheels then!

Diff
Guard diff showed up about 2 weeks ago also. That was a pain! They had the diff, but no bearings. Charlie had to source the bearing for the guy. Charlie called allover the country and found 1 warehouse with about 25 of them. Called Guard back, and they ordered them. But bearing had to be machined by about 10/10000ths. Since Guard was bought by GT gears (Paul retired), guy there didn't knoiw how to machine them because his shop guy retired! Anyhow, Charlie said ship it anyhow, and he built a jig and machined it himself. Diff is in!

Radio:
Went to test the PTT and helmet of the radio. Didnt work! Called the harness company. Turns out 1) there is a small red wire (came with no instructions) that has to get hooked to power. Ok, did that, still no work. Called back. Turns out their NASCAR plug harness they sell (along with the motorola adapter), are not compatable, even though, site impies they
are. Had to rip it out and convert to IMSA. While doing the testing we jumped the red wire directly to the battery. Plug pins touched and fried the radio. Had to order another one. Argh

Amazing how all these plug in parts aren't really plug in.

Body Work:
Europros did great job painting. Front and rear bumpers installed, still waiting on rear wing.

Still need to:
Finish up Suspension
Put on brakes
Corner balance/align
Get custom door panels made
reinstall radio
Install windshield
Install Wing
Remove all error codes from computer
Hook up cutoff
Put livery on
Bunch of small odds and ends

Hopefully most done by end of week. Couple recent in progress pics

Congrats on the progress.

Sad though about the Moton and LSD sourcing. QC ain't what it used to be.

Nope, those run about $2,500. Cheap leatherette for me (about $250.)
