Default Saved $$$ on Insurance

I'm insured with State Farm I just redid my policy with them to
have my 911 covered as a antique/classic/collectible car (endorsement
6171AU). Dropped my rate $600/year while keeping the same level
of coverage I was paying for before.

NO mention of restrictions (milage, usage, etc) and got the car covered
to an agreed upon value of $32,000

Vu,

I have all my cars with State Farm, only issue with the classic car insurance is you have to go to the agent's office and have them take pictures of the car, and bring an estimate of the car's value and agree on the price.

They're pretty easy to deal with and very reasonably priced. They are quite flexible with the miles allowed and use of the car. That's the best part.

That's odd.....I did it all over the phone. I wonder if I need to do what you mentioned?

The best insurance savings I ever got was last week when I sold my Carrera and took her off the policy. That saved me $900 a year.

How's the insurance rates on the 993? Better or worse than the 911?

I think it's about the same, but I raised the deductible and made some changes on the homeowner's side of it. Sure feels nice to be rid of the Carrera - not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just glad she's someone else's pleasure now and I can concentrate on one money pit instead of two.

So how did you end up selling it? Did you know the buyer?

Sold it on Autotrader. Buyer is a young local guy, who I think lurks here and will probably be one of our gang. Amazingly, I found the perfect buyer for this car. He wanted a well-sorted car that he could tinker with on the weekends, wasn't so clean he'd worry about it, drive the hell out of an make into a track car - PERFECT fit. He emailed me a few days later and told me how great it was performing for him. I'm very happy for us both.

Will we see him and your former Carrera at the Sept 28th fun run?
