On my '88 I had polished Fuchs. They loooked awesome after I hit them with mothers aluminium polish and a buff ball on a drill. The issue is that when you remove the anodizing you will now add your wheels as a cosmetic maintence step. If I had kept my car I would have had the wheels re-nodized to eliminate the regular polishing needed.

Found the pics of the dimples I was talking about, wet sanding and my finished product prior to painting the pedals.

Wow getting those dimples out must have been SUCH a pain. Look great now though!

Live and learn, I guess. It wasn't as bad as you would think but still not something I would want to do again. Draino is def the way to go! Thanks.

Dave:

If my arm plays nicely tomorrow, I'll back the 911 out of the garage and take a few pix of your/my wheels. Used the pair that were just a little rough for a satin finish. The nicer pair were polished. My original 7s were done in a satin finish for the fronts. Soon, I'll have a set of 6/8s polished for the car as well.

Great job on the wheels! Since you have pics, maybe you can shoot Richard Curtis a write up for a future dV issue.
