Default WTB Trailer

Nothing too exotic, open, wheel rack not required, just something to tow car to the track and back. Wanted ASAP.

Brand new from Dively, if picked up there, is--holy crap, they raised their prices A LOT. About $2100 if paying with cash. Spare tire (needed) is about an extra $50. No tire rack.

For a 964, you'd want the wheels moved back 18" and the narrower 8' overall width (no extra charge for either). They'll deliver for "free," but they give $100 off if you pick up. So not really free, but $100 for delivery is a pretty good deal.

Why the narrower width? Is an extra 6" really going to kill anyone parking it? Limits its use for wide non-pcars right?

Premier trailer is, imo, a much nicer trailer if you can find one. Full width easy pull out ramps, low fenders, no cross bar at the very tail end to bang your shins on, etc. Very nice solid trailer.

The narrow width (I've had both narrow and normal) fits the car much better. At least for my '86, the tires just barely make it on the ramps--if the car is angled off a bit, one or 2 of the tires might be only partially on the ramps. Just easier, is all.

Ahh got it. As hard a time as you have staying on track, I can see how you want to avoid the embarrassment of having an off on the trailer.

All kidding aside, I'm surprised that you don't have better aim. Esp given that you practice hiting the bullseye everyday...

full width is better. if it's narrow it should cost less than full width given it uses less steel, is less utilitarian and has lower resale value. they are not doing you a favor by not charging more for the narrow option.

x3 on the full width trailer having more utility and re-sale potential.

FWIW, I've always identified a point on the trailer with a piece of tape(easier if you have a tire rack) that allows you to visually line up the car via the center of the steering wheel. Makes loading less of a guessing game. I suppose without a tire rack you could use some sort of temporary "post" for alignment that's high enough to see from the driver's seat. Maybe something magnetic at the bottom, or attached to the trailer with a clamp.
