Default Welding Stainless Steel

Where can I have Stainless Steel welded? My wife's Benz ML430 exhaust/header cracked at the weld at the Cat. Yeah, it's the second one to crack as we replaced the passenger side eariler this year. It's either a truly crappy weld process or a truly crappy design. Either way the new part is $1,100.00 before labor to R&R. I believe this can be welded up and made stronger. It's a clean break all around the weld - sounds like a race car.

Wifey's not happy and if Momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy.

Is welding a bad idea? Any suggestions as to a local welding shop that might tackle this situation?

I need the wisdom of my Dorki brothers.
