As others have said don't do it - buy another car - any other car. But if you must this looks interesting:

Thanks for the links. I do like the look of the 924s.

I'd also consider a non-turbo car; I'm also on the lookout for a 87/88 924S.

I've owned a 88 944 and a 86 951 in the past.

I have an 87 924s with 110K. I bought it as a winter car in Nov and have used it as a daily drive since. Just bought a new house and need to simplify my life.

Interior OK - usual rip on driver seat, cracks in dash and has some headliner damage from sunroof leak and sitting on a lot for 6 months. Cold A/C - (134 conversion), radio needs look as it works intermittently.

Body - Alpine white - straight with one barely noticeable dent on rear wheel well. Scuffs on air damn. Stock phone dials and good rubber.

Engine - seems strong but has no records. (I have the prior owners name but have not contacted him.) Exhaust lacks a muffler.

If you are interested I will send you pix. Looking for $2900.

Jim, thanks for letting me know about the article in Panorama.

I didn't find any 924s for sale in Hershey, though there were a number of 944s for sale. I did see a really nice red 924 in the concours lot. I didn't get very long to look at it though; my 4 year old spotted the Carrera GT at the other end of the parking lot so we had to go check on that. I tried stalling but the owner revved the engine a couple of times and that really peaked his curiousity. And mine too.

Default Craigslist ad

but contains a contradiction: 86 924 turbo? (I bet it's a 944 turbo, but possible 82 924 turbo)

Bump. I'm still looking for a Porsche 924 and I'm getting a decent tax refund this year! So, if you've seen anything interesting and local...please let me know.

Take your time searching. The 944 may be an easy upgrade from the 924 - for not much more money. Either way, dont be distracted by people saying "dont do it". If you do the work yourself, it is not that bad. If you dont - expensive. It is easy to keep them running if you buy your parts smartly or used. The information available on them is nothing short of incredible. Good luck with your search.
