I must say that I have not driven this much at a DE for a while. My first weekend in a rear engine car and I avoided any uncorrectable mis-steps. Some might say slow, but I'd say driving within my abilities. Ran the car all day Friday and first session of Saturday on old street tires. Switch to RA1 provided by Antonio (BIG THANKS) and the car felt much better.

I did instructor mentoring on Friday. I learned a lot doing that. Had a great student and spent a couple of sessions in the right seat with Carolyn and we are still married

Went for a ride with Jim E which confirmed youth and talent are great combination for going fast. Unfortunately both eludes me. He rode with me on Friday and help instill confidence that at least my lines are okay.

Carolyn tells me this was her best track weekend yet.

Great weekend at the track! Thanks to my instuctor Scott B. for being so patient and showing a better way around the track. Also, thanks to Dan D. for his time on my last run of the day.

It was nice to see some friendly faces as well. Now I just need to practice practice practice so I can use a bit more of my car's potential.

Looking forward to my next track weekend

(I thought I posted this last night before I went to bed, but it doesn't seem to have made it)

Had a great weekend. Mentored a very nice candidate in a BMW E36 M3 on Friday - I think that is the best car buy out there - balanced, smooth, great shifter. I really enjoyed it and my candidate (not a Dorki). I heat-cycled my sticker 15" Hoho's, and learned that I can't trust looking at my shift lights when I've ingrained where on the track I shift. Nice dinner that night with...well...everyone.

Saturday I met an even nicer student, Boxst3r (Ardy)! He also joined us for dinner with Pete (not me), Caroline, and her husband. It seems Cantina D'Italia was the place to be on Saturday night!

Driving was a blast, and I spent a fair amount of time mixing it up with Hoophead (Jeff) and Call911 (Russell) even though I can't really keep up with the latter, and also mscheidt (Michael) who seems much faster with my engine--and not all the pieces are in place so my days of passing him may soon be over. On Sunday, DerABD (Evan) and John A. came out in black with us and we got some coaching. I put the Hoho's back on to keep up, but after 4 laps I was seriously oversteering in 9 and 10 so had to take it easy. Evan and John (and Russell) slowed themselves down for almost all of the session so we could keep together (not all that slow - a 128 and a few 129s on my G2x despite traffic). Came in and measured pressures and, as I suspected, a bit high: 43 psi in the front, and 46 (!!) in the rear. Still, that session was the highlight of my weekend! Thanks Evan and John!

Had a great time as well. Thanks Potomac PCA! My instructor, Tom, showed me a few new tricks that worked well. Finally got some good video, too. As usual, friendly people and amazing cars. Had some beers with Charlie Clark and his lovely wife on Saturday. He was my first instructor ever and we still enjoy talking. I will miss him and wish him well but I have a feeling he will be back. Best of luck, Charlie.

Was definately a good weekend, i didnt even get to make it out on friday as i was in control of the little one....

I had a great student (Vasil in a subaru STI) who had the perfect attitude, listened and remembered instruction, and was promoted to blue run group ...congrats..though i dont think he is on dorki.

My dad drove my car in black and had a blast...thank you all for being nice and dealing with the refamiliarization he had to do...been a year and a half since he had been on track....he ended up running a 130 on saturday and i havent had a chance to pull the data from sunday but i think i had him at a 128 or so......was funny to see an ex gt3 driver go into turn one and use the brakes as if it had abs....i pooped my pants...but he did well with no offs or incidents.

had a good time mixing it up with Dr. K, Russell and John Ashford... in black...hopefully they picked up some lines or something from the session. both seem to be coming along well ....potomacs E Class is going to be sweeping the charts soon im sure.

Gunther your car is a beast. You just need to learn to stomp on the brakes.

Scott B .....Steve B ....Close enough
