Default Original Price? 1983 928

I need some trivia help. Does anyone know what the MSRP was for a Porsche 928 in 1983? Is there a good book that contains that sort of Porsche historical info? Thanks

In 1984 it was $46,000 for a 928S. Cant imagine the '83s were much cheaper. Price stuck in my head from an 8th grade English class report

Nothing like bumping old threads to win friends on a new forum...but adding a data point- handy 1986.5 sticker I have here lists 54476.00 all-in.

For amusement value- estimated annual fuel cost $1065.00

I love geeking out on inflation calculators, so that 54476.00 in 1986 would today run you a cool $112,657.46...at an inflation rate of 106 %!

Annual fuel cost would be an adjusted $2,202.44.

And nowdays, $112K doesn't come close to a top of the line "street" porsche price

True I think that is pretty close to the GTS price as the model sunsetted in '94/95.

I think the fuel estimate is still a bit shy- what was gas priced per gallon back then? About .87 or so?
