You will likely need to get a letter from BSR or other groups you have run with in order to get PCA Potomac to waive the HPDC/ auto-x requirement. Recommend you send the Registrar an introductory email -- the sooner the better.
As far as I know, Potomac's DE events are not currently open to non-PCA members, but that sometimes changes if an event is not filling up. Please make sure you review the 'minimum requirements' in the DE portion of PCA.org's web site for information on convertibles, roll bars, harnesses, etc., as it may influence any added safety elements you may be planning. Sorry to hear about the 6speed thing, but we'll try not to hold that against you

Actually a few years ago when the gas prices went up and the economy tanked, Potomac opened up its DE to all marques.....

You can join the club before you get your P-car. They opened that up for people who want to BUY a Porsche. Maybe Vu, our esteemed PCA Exec will chime in...
Steve, are you referring to my Durango or one of my Porsches (or the Maserati)? Ben seems to have adopted the "other" vehicle... Peter

Although membership in PCA requires ownership/lease of a Porsche or that you be in a Porsche-related business, we do offer something for those of you actively trying to become Porsche owners.
The PCA Quest program provides you a six-month subscription to Porsche Panorama, the club's monthly national magazine. You'll not only have access to hundreds of Porsches for sale by PCA members in The Mart, but you'll also gain access to valuable technical information about the cars through the many articles in Panorama. You'll also have access to the on-line Mart during your six-month subscription period. A logon account will be assigned to you when you sign up for the Quest Program. Although PCA Quest is not a full membership in PCA and does not entitle you to some member benefits (attending member-only events, voting, or becoming a member of a region), regions may welcome guests and you are encouraged to make contact with your local PCA region. PCA Quest is $40 for a one-time, six-month subscription (non-renewable). The fee is non-refundable and cannot be applied toward a membership in whole or in part should you acquire a Porsche and join PCA prior to the expiration of the 6-month subscription. To sign up for PCA Quest, please contact the PCA Executive Office at 410-381-0911, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.
