Great weekend for me as well.

Thanks to Riley, Scheidt and Tony Kelly for riding right seat with me throughout the weekend to show me new techniques through the Carousel. Taking it in 2nd gear is definitely much quicker, but getting the car to shift into 3rd before T7 is a bear. Missed several shifts there, and was quite frustrating.

Another thanks to Riley for swapping students with me to allow me track time (started with green student, and swapped out for blue). Home made lunch at PFest on me.

Thanks to Talon for taking my neighborhood friend out for Taste of the Track. He couldn't stop talking about it after he got home.

I thought the track was in great shape, and hoping it stays the same for next month. Thanks to everyone who puts this well-run show together.

Good seeing everyone out there!

Another great weekend! Weather was amazing Fri and Sat; starting getting hot on Sun. I had a great Green student to work with, who hadn't been at the track for 2 years, but picked it up quick. Driving a similar 944S2 to mine, we had a lot of fun!. Was also cool seeing so many 944's in the Group; everything from basic NA's, S2's and Turbos. Nader's student in the NA car was doing awesome!

Was also nice seeing Bob Williams at the track. His 935 beast was very cool.

Cindy really enjoyed working with her student, including learning more about the ol' school 911's.

I had some fun laps with Talon out there. I always enjoy watching a 911 go thru turns on 3 wheels.

I came away from the weekend being a genuine red neck again after 20 years when I worked on a farm. Next time I work on a car with my head down, I insist that it'd be in the shade I did learn a lot about replacing wheel bearing thanks to all who provided experties. Met George and Maureen (sp).

I had a great student and enjoyed being harrased for not driving (at least I diid not brake anything). It was good to hang out with my twin brodah from another modah and his better half. Carolyn enjoyed the new harness and seats. I got ssome ideas about what to do to improve them.

The biggest thanks goes to VG for fixing Carolyn's wheels and riding right seat.

Should be there in August with my car.

I had a great weekend, except for an encounter with flying gravel on Friday. The weather was great and the car ran well. Can't ask for much more in July.

I had a good weekend too - started out driving reasonably well for a change and improved a second or so by Saturday.

Found out that aero does matter, even at summit. Without the ginormous wing, I could feel the rear end get loose coming down under the bridge, and felt loose tracking out of 10. Put the wing back on for Saturday and that all went away.

It was also a weekend of random events:
- had my gas expansion tank come loose and rub on the drivers front tire at the end of the first run
- hit a groundhog on Friday, missed one on Saturday.
- discovered my aux oil cooler fan was seized (brought on by tire klag) on Sunday morning
- broke 3rd gear on the second run of Sunday. Feels like dog teeth - I think I jinxed myself because I was thinking about how I haven't had any transmission problems in a couple of years... Hope to get it fixed by Aug, just ordered the parts.

Good to be back. Thanks to Jerome for riding with me and tweaking my 7,8,9. I liked the addition of the 5-6 passing zone in white. Got a touch boring at time because I'm so far off the pace of the rest of the group, so I had to make sure to keep some focus.

I had a fun yet frustrating weekend.

It was good to be back at SP after a 1.5 year hiatus. My student was also phenomenal: good drover, precise, and able to put into practice the changes we made. Oh, his car having ~500hp helped make it fun, too.

I was a little frustrated w/ my suspension. What worked a couple weeks ago at WG was too stiff for SP. After I softened my shocks, I still had turn-in-to-apex understeer that I couldn't completely eliminate (car was neutral at WG). Not only did the understeer scrub speed, but I couldn't pitch the car nor TTO to get it to rotate. I think tightening the rear bar to full stiff (it's almost at full stiff already) should dial out the understeer and give me back some of the tail happiness I like. Maybe it's just a grip difference between the WG concrete and SP sealer. I only ran my lap timer 2 sessions on Sunday with a best time of 1:25.45 and consistent 1:25.7s in the morning sessions, and consistent low 1:26s in the 2nd session (this is on RA1s). Im reasonably happy with those times as my old RA1 times were usually in the 1:27s.

I'm also 2 for 2 on mechanicals this year. Broke a bolt at WG that holds the alternator adjustment rod and toasted a left front wheel bearing at SP. The bearing went 2nd session of Sunday so I just skipped the last session. I think the bumpy turns of WG and SP lead to its rapid demise as the bearing isn't that old.

I may not be as enthusiastic about the track surface as others. While I'm glad turns 1, 5, & 6 are better than before, I think the surface took a step backward in 4 & 9. I'm concerned the multiple bumps in T9 may bite 911s worse than before.

Oh, and I sure am glad the Porsche designers started putting those ghey LED running lights on the 997 GTwhatevers. It let me know that Ryan and Clark were approaching (rapidly).

It also felt good to return a favor to ViceGrip. For years in his 912 he'd give he point-bys and lift before the chute. I got to return the favor many times over this weekend....
