First... HELL YEAH!!! Nobody better this could have happened to. I hope he rots in hell.

Second... Groan. To much time on the internet has shown me that this topic, and ones like it, sadly, can't NOT turn into a political pissing match. It seem to be a combination of John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory combined with now almost universal assumption that every bias one has is ALWAYS correct, and if the facts don't fit that bias, the facts (not the bias) must be wrong.

So I almost deleted this thread before it began, but I think I'll leave it because its a good topic (Go USA) and to see if anyone outs themself as falling squarely my second issue. As soon as they do, the thread gets closed.

Enjoy.

A milestone is passed, and America has restored some long due credibility to our word. No longer can they say they'll wait us out, that we won't finish what has begun.

I was at the Pentagon that Tuesday night to see the smoke still rising from the fire.

I have not forgotten.

I am not sure we need to be dancing in the streets. Seems like we are stooping to their level by cheering his death. A nice quiet " job well done "would suffice for me.

8 months of intel. They were following a courier and he went to a "much more secure location than one would expect for a courier to live in." I just wish it had happened 12 years ago... We drove to NY the weekend of 9/14-16/01, and saw the smoke rising from the WTC site. Went in to the city and it was bizarre (in a good way). People at the restaurant talking to everybody else, even going table-to-table. Never seen that even in a small city like Winston-Salem or Springfield, MA.

Jazz, really like John Gabriel's theory. SOOOoooo true!

Agree. Even with as much emotion as is conected to all this and there is much, it should not be a point of giddyness.

That said I am quite glad he is dead and gone and that it was via boots on the ground and not from a drone. Sounds like a textbook job other than a mechanical. Now we need to clean up the rest of the mess.

X2
and as Mark Twain said; "I've never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure"

Celebrating death is not the norm for Americans, but it is completely to be expected in this case. We would be stooping to their level if we dragged the body through the streets while pouring pork blood on it etc.

Horay for the US military!
