Best GP in a long while! Fantastic race by Hamilton. Nice to see Michael S showing some of his old talent. And out of nowhere, Weber who I had written off for the race.

Still a nice laugh about Button's pitting with the wrong team!

Crazier even when Vettel mentioned in the post-race interview that another car has done the same thing. Their pit must be kinda like DR/TR's garage!

Bonehead move, and clearly cost Jenson track position. That breif social visit to the RBR pitbox cost him valuable time. Luckily he was out before Vettel arrived, but despite pitting first with a gap on Vettel, he finnaly arrived in the McLaren pitbox after Vettel's service had started. Vettel gained enough time to leave ahead of him.

Guess who will be buying the team's beer tonight?

That was a great race. The tires going off (quickly) makes for interesting moves in strategy. It seems like you could get rid of KERS as well as the adjustable rear wing and still have that kind of driving/passing/excitement with those tires only.

I thought Webber's comment in the post race was interesting. "We might consider not qualifying at all and saving the tires for the race". He wasn't serious I don't think, but you could imagine that if he had made it into the top ranks of Q2 then opted out of the last round of qualifying to save tires, that might give you an advantage in the long run.

So why wasn't Teflonso penalized for using the DRS in a verbotten location? I assumed that the DRS button would be inoperable unless the car was in the appropriate location with the appropriate distance to the car in front. With all the GPS tracking and telemetry, it seems this would be a natural feature to add to the DRS system.

I like the idea of KERS actually; IMHO it helps the development of hybrid technology. What I don't like are the "rules" associated with the use of the DRS flap. At one point in the broadcast they showed Alonso (?) using it where he wasn't supposed to be, and yet there wasn't any official response that I saw. The business of only being able to use it if you're behind, and only after the "sign" on the track, I find to be onerous. I say let the driver decide when and where. What's the point of the overtaking car having a brief advantage? How's that racing??

I was interested in this as well. And also why there wasn't a penalty for the driver crossing the blend line coming out of the pit; while he crossed it in an innocuous place and where there was a strange kink in the line, everyone else seemed to abide by the rule.
