Default Synthetic brake fluid OK for SC?

I usually get Ate brake fluid but forgot when I put in a recent order for brake pads, etc., from Vertex. All the local parts stores carry only synthetic brake fluids? Any problems with using syn in a 911SC (1982)?

Dot4 =

So long as the bottle says DOT4, go for it. FYI- OG Racing carriers ATE fluid. Ground shipping has always got it to me next-day.

What George said above. Prolly even get away w/ using the cheap Valvoline Synthetic DOT3/4 stuff from Advance. On sale now btw. I think it's $6/L

If you're not driving the car on the track, you can be much more flexible. If you're driving HARD on the track, definitely use a good DOT-4 or even AP600 (or splurge on SRF $$$$).

My understanding is that lots of brake fluids are, and always have been, synthetic but not necessarily advertised as such. So it's "synthetic-ness" is irrelevant as long as it's glycol based and otherwise good stuff.

Now, if it's silicone based, that's another story. You cannot combine silicone and regular brake fluid.
