It's always helpful to keep your car locked or get a Doberman to act as a guard if you don't want people to snoop around.
That'll do it!

There was no formal Tech inspection at Sebring which was the first race of the year. You just hand in your form saying the car complies and they stamp your log book.

As Tony and others have said they do have spot checks to see if you are in compliance during the week.

During one of the last sessions on Saturday they pulled me in to find my rear brakes were leaking, my rotors cracked, and my calipers were broken.
I just ignored them for the enduro the next day

Hmmmm......I wonder if this may have been a contributing factor to Hunt's spin.........

Hah. That would have been the first case of someone being licked to death by a Doberman. RIP Rudy and find Kilo and Onyx in doggie heaven where they'll teach you some new tricks on guard duties.

Thanks, Nader. I hope my next dog will be as amazingly chilled and smart as Rudy was.

BTW, with a name like Kilo, I'm guessing your pup didn't cross too many borders...

Woww....Hunt's Sebring spin gets more and more perplexing. I found this other video online that shows Hunt's incident.

Running it through the super-duper-slow-mo analyzer, I found this :
Name: HuntBeforeSpinSebring2.jpg
Views: 225
Size: 91.3 KB

Looks to me like Hunt needs to be a bit more proactive next time the collection plate comes down his pew....

after reviewing the in car video and this one, it looks like a bump in the track + braking + slight turn of the wheel = spin. without the bump in the track, i think things would've been fine. glad nobody was hurt and it could've been way worse. thankfully it wasn't.

I should have been braking after the bump or been a few feet farther right than I was. Chalk it up to track knowledge. If you look you'll see a few other skid marks where some others may have been caught by surprise in exactly the same spot. What I should have done once the spin started is get off the brake and run thru the turn to the old hairpin. Maybe getting off the brake starts a tank slapper (potentially worse) or it straightens out. Real easy to see all that now

BTW, I told him to leave the factory bumper on instead of some flimsy piece of plastic crap. It's unsafe. I'm outraged.

Since you are paying for it I told him something much safer is in order. Carbon fiber is on the way.
