Default Driver's Pass

I got an invite to “the Auto Show in Motion” for May 12 – 15. It is essentially a meet and drive GMs ’05 car & truck lineup. Hugh “track set up at Fed Ex Field (according to the slick DVD). Can’t go, youngest daughter graduating William and Mary Law that weekend. I also got an extra pass if anyone is interested. If your shy about wanting to drive a new Vet or Hummer just PM me your address I’ll include the DVD too.

Happy motoring

Yes, and really like it Go figure how they got my name? I haven’t owned a GM product since ’78. I used to buy “rusty” Vegas for under $100 to use for daily driver/beater duty. Even made a pickup out of a hatchback. Had a real nice GT interior, instrument cluster and steering wheel I would swap from one car to the next
Ah Vegas, the poster child for “great idea – bad execution”. IMO close 2nds would include; 21ft. long, 500ci, front wheel drive, Cadillacs, and any Ford Edsels

Pam and I went to an "Auto Show in Motion" a couple of years ago. I thought it was fun enough and included a free lunch. They had all of the GM products, along with many other competitors. Had little courses (I wouldn't exactly call them autocross courses) set up in the parking lot.

You had to drive a certain number of "regular" cars and get a card stamped to allow you to drive the Z06 and the Hummer. Only got one time with those cars.

The Hummer course had you go over a huge dirt mound in the middle of the lot. It was hard to "look ahead" going up when all you could see was the sky and comming down, when all you could see was the ground.

If I encountered huge dirt mounds on my commute, I would definately get a Hummer.

And the winner is? I got an e-mail so I’ll let them tell if they want. The DVD was very good. The 914guy went to one with Volvos! I let him tell the story if he ever checks back in, but let us just say Volvos idea of spirited driving and ‘14s were poles apart

Yeah, I got thrown out for knocking over a cone. I guess I should have known I was in for some trouble when the kid working the event gave me a hard time for squeeling tires
