Schumacher handed 10-place grid penalty for Spa
Mercedes GP’s Michael Schumacher has been punished by the Hungarian Grand Prix stewards for his clash with Williams’ Rubens Barrichello in the closing laps of Sunday's Budapest race. Schumacher receives a 10-place grid penalty for the next round in Belgium. As Barrichello attempted to overtake the German on Lap 66 on the main straight, the seven-time champion appeared to move over on the Brazilian and push him towards the pit wall. After a post-race investigation the stewards decided Schumacher had "illegitimately impeded car 9 during an overtaking manoeuvre”. Mercedes GP have accepted the decision. The Belgian Grand Prix takes place at Spa-Francorchamps from August 27-29.

Michael and Rubens still don't get along.
Vettel is currently an idiot. If he wins the championship it will be shocking. His teamate seemed to have a great race and I guess, since he's leading the points battle #2 is now #1

Stupid move and too dangerous. RB's radio call was dead on.

10 spots is light. Considering the speed and risk he should have to miss Spa!

Back to the future. In 2013 the cars will have 1.6 turbos and ground effects. Here we go again!?

I can live more with the new "turbo era" than all this green agenda they're contemplating. What's next? Noise pollution controls? Winning LeMans sure is sexy, but in an Audi diesel that whispers going by?
This circuit was dirt a couple weeks ago. I don't know how they managed to get it done. Maybe it was fear of Bernie's penalty for not being able to host the race.

Have you been around the diesels? They aren't much quieter than the Toyota and Nissan prototypes of the early 90s. Personally, I like the green thing. It will, hopefully, keep f1 atleast slightly relevant. I'd rather have green rules and open up the engine type and displacement. I miss the diverstiy we had 15+ years ago.

I have not experienced the diesels, other than Savowood's Jetta Cup car on a hot lap at lunch during FATT.
I just remember the first F1 race I saw at Indy in 2003. WOW! The sounds, the atmosphere, the smell of the racing fuel. I was on a 4 day high. The R8(?) has crushed the competition, but seeing it whistle by on TV seems to have lost some of the "drama" we all enjoy. The manufacturers drive the rules to a large extent. They want a fairly stable rule set to protect the investment required to eventually win in F1. But they risk becoming a boring spec series with little innovation.(Indycar) I understand that for manufacturers to be relevant these days, they have to be green. If they can make green more exciting (like the Porsche 918 or the BMW concept), I guess I can cheer the Euro-pedestrian safety nosed, low/no CO2 emission, electric blob silently going by to win LeMans with no pit stops. Until then, bring on a Ferrari V12 Scream that gives me goosebumps!

Perhaps they'll add the elevation changes later...
