Stephen, the reason I'm thinking e-bay is that cars similar to mine have been doing mid-high 4k range which seems good money for a car the buyer hasn't met, yet.

Then just do it. Do you really need everything to be blessed (or damned) by people on the Board before you do it? If you are going to list it with a price (as opposed to an auction), what is there to even think about?

Blessings, hell no. Opinions, maybe, yeah. But no worries, yours will never be considered or asked for.

Dorkiphus = About 75 possible customers.

Craigslist and cars.com = About 1,000,000 possible customers.

Yes, on Dorkiphus you'll know who you're dealing with. But on the other sites THEY won't know who they're dealing with!

i'd post it on craigslist first. then after 2 weeks go autotrader. i've sold cars on both of these and it worked out just fine. cars.com i've never sold from but i've definitely car shopped from it. those 3 sites are the main places I car hunt, other than car forums.

If by now you don't know where to sell a used car, you need a new hobby

We all know your cheap, but why not both (all). Spend a couple bucks to sell your car. List as many places and get it done.

FWIW, I have it here, Craigs and xc70.com. This is the first time in a long while that I've tried to sell a "normal" car. Usually trade it in and avoid the BS, but I'm hoping, probably fruitlessly, that it'll go to an enthusiast. I love the old girl but gotta sell.

What would be best is a site that multiple lists, to save time.

1) Remove the emotion from the sale. It is a car.

2) A price is just a number. Don't take a low ball personally. Simply say yes, counteroffer, or no.

3) Add either, or both, Autotrader and Cars.com to your list of selling points (or like tony mentioned, Washington Post/Cars.com in 1 try.)

4) its an 9 yo station wagon with 150K miles. Its not automotive nirvana. Its a volvo. Be done with it.

I get about 23 average. Up to 27 on trips, loaded.

A few cool points on the car: it has a light button feature, when you use the button, it turns on the interio lights, lights under the rear view mirrors and the corner markers; it also has a place for a pen on the center counsel, a place for you parking ticket on the a pillar, a place for a 2 liter soda bottle or trash bag behind the center counsel, it reverse flows the coolant so it cools the turbo and blows the interior fan on hot days when the engine is off to help keep inteior temps down (neither of those has ever drained the battery down).

Just a few cool features.
