I think that hairy thing was a "Carolina Wolf Spider" - the largest found in the U.S. It's found as far north as PA.
Apparently, just the body can be up to 1-1/2" in length.

Over the Atlantic, the larger wolf spiders are called the "European Tarantulas"

In my old Golden Field Guide on spiders from the 1968 it says "Wolf spiders make nice pets."

Max negative rear camber eats tires fast. I drove back from Mid Ohio on these tires. The one on the right is actually cracking. I'm lucky I made it back....I had been watching the one one the left. They were bad but not corded when I left Lexington. Fail.

Actually, the urban dictionary (noted while I was looking for this picture) defines moose knuckle as when a man's..um.."boys" go on either side of his seam creating a similar but more uncomfortable picture...

Interesting, too much toe in normally also shows a scalloping surface in the inner edge.

LOL, that's what I was thinking, but the left one sort of does have a scallop pattern. Sort of.

Since I know little to nothing about this... Why/how does improper toe create a scallop pattern?
