I think it means that he has a very unreliable TT or he can't leave it alone.
Larry -- Instructors work best in right hand turn tracks. You need to go to Mid Ohio and Watkins Glen to expand your sample size. Or add some outrigger and ballast for tracks like Shenandoah and JC.

The more I drive the car, the more I tune in to the subtleties of the car's workings and handling. I want to keep tweaking it until I feel I have it dialed in, which may be never. But isn't that what a hobby is for?

Seein' as how you already have adjustable shocks, seems like you may want to play with those before touching springs. Are your sways adjustable?

Think corner Ballance
Not sure I agree but remember their car has two drovers and sees LOTS of track time and events... even sometimes in the rain! U-no sometimes it's like listening to a teenager tell their parents they know all about life cause they’re a second semester sophomore in college! Ops, forgot no 2nd drover, no teenagers, no away games, no droving in the rain...

DR, what part of this did you not see? It was meant as a ribbing just like I'm sure Alan meant it for me.

] ] Not sure what that is about ... but getting back your Q: Tip: When you do start changing things around or tweaking what you have ... Longacre (or similar) makes a pad of spec sheets for car adjustments that has places for: 1. jounce/rebound on shocks 2. tire pressures (X4) 3. tire temps (X4) 4. spring rates (changing coilovers at the track) 5. F/R sway settings 6. corner weights 7. notes 8. etc... ... that comes in handy when you start changing things around and can sometimes forget where your baseline is/was. Over the years we've created "setup" sheets for each car for each track and with the 3.4L ... differences between Hoosier v. Goodyear slicks. There is no end to how much car "setup" detail you can record and then try to decipher. *Then multiply by 2X when there is a 2nd drover ... like say in an 4 hour enduro. |
