Greetings! This here is a Sell/Part Out thread for my Alpine White 1986 944 turbo with 114K miles. The motor has a leaking head gasket, and rear main seal.
The bad/known issues: Head Gasket and Rear main seal would need immediate addressing. Bearings will need to be done, as there is oil in the coolant, and now coolant is also present in oil at last drive. Power steering system will need rework, ie rack rebuild, new hoses, new pump. Belt for pump was cut due to me believing an annoying sound I heard was the PS pump.... It wasn't. Car has been hit in the past. Rear has evidence where it was smooshed when looking from underneath. PO also rear ended somebody, so the front bumper/hood/fender gaps on the passenger side are not so great. Transmission needs a reseal. Shifts good, no grinding or horrible noises. Shifts quick as I can throw it. Turbo is likely on last legs. I saw oil in the intercooler and pipes, plus some oil coming from the bypass valve. Intake/TB clear of oil. Car did not smoke at all. Sunroof is a no-go... Entire system would be needed. I beleive the tie rods were mentioned to me as well at the past tech inspection over at Intersport (Charlie Murphy looked the car over at that time, pointed out the below crash stuff) What's good: BRAND frakking new air conditioning. New compressor for r-134, new condenser, etc. Climate control in dash works with buttons somewhat worn (was used, but original A/C button broke. I could sell the Climate control but you'd need a new A/C button to install.) Dash top is not cracked. No warps, doesn't look sun faded. Plastic trim along where climate control is, not so good, but that can be grabbed from a pick n pull (i hope) Center console flip over top thingy is missing, so it's just an open tray right now. Bought a new glovebox lock/latch, however am missing the hardware to attach it with. So if you need a new glovebox locking system... Has a vented nose panel (the kind with two nostrils. Not the Lindsey one.) Water pump was done very recently, as well as belts (as in less than 5,000 miles ago). Clutch feels strong. No slipping, grabs nicely. Has Pioneer CD system installed, along with door speakers. Missing speaker grills. Rears sound like they are upgraded, but they're hidden. Long and short, is I am willing to sell this car as a whole if I get a good offer, or part it out as far as possible. I'd prefer a good offer, as I will likely have no more than $400 to my name after I buy a car this weekend. I would like to ask 3K to sell in one piece. If I've lost my mind, please do tell, but I really put too much money into the car (bought for $7K, didnt do a pre-purchase inspection at a shop, etc... Took car to a not-good shop for work, there went another roughly $7k... Plus recent repairs racked up to another $5K.) All in all I made some mistakes in my early ownership of the car, and I would not want to sell this car in any other circumstances than someone who would use as a parts car, or to strip/make a track car, or even rebuild for those with deep pockets and a maniacal passion for rebuilding these things. The car is located in Chantilly, one light west of the Chantilly Curry's Auto Service, off of Pleasant Valley->Cub Run->General Stevens Ct. I can be reached at 757-376-3332. My phone is on me 24/7, and I will almost always answer unless I'm like weed-whacking (might happen Saturday), driving, or in a deep comatose-like sleep. Or at Church. ***UPDATE, finally got pictures. This car needs to go ASAP, as a parts car, or if you're crazy as a project. I have to move to Alexandria, so the car must go. Please come by and have a look-see, judge for yourself. Fuchs were traded/sold, along with 968 mirrors. I had a request for just the drivetrain, so if someone wants to "split" the car so to speak, that should be manageable. I do not however have tools/time to part the car out.

Sorry about the bad news. Please list the not-so-reputable repair shops here. Best of luck and I will share this info with a couple of friends.

BUMP, updated with photos and status change of parts. Car has been parked since late last year on diagnosis of Head Gasket failure, still no signs that the coolant got into the oil.

Long story shot, the motor needs a rebuild. We'll just leave it at that....
