Probably why the originals are anodized. I like the original finish but painted mine just because. When the brakes get “well used” the paint bakes off. I think bettyc had a problem with that some years ago.

Dave, I think you're right. Must have been 4 or 5 cars ago.
I think "they" ordered a C4S that was Arena Red. The big reds that came with the package clashed with the Arena Red so they went down the option list and picked the Tiffany (titanium) finish. I think her lead foot husband cooked the brakes as Betty would NEVER abuse her brakes.
Porsche replaced the calipers once and told them not to do that again.

I rebuilt my SC calipers recently. You will definitely need an air compressor. You need to use a c-clamp and thin wood block too.

I've been considering putting on that "big red" finish on my brakes (but not in red) because the smooth hardened paint makes it easy to clean the calipers and you can spot any abnormalities sooner in a clean enviroment... now due to the possibility of heat containment, I'm wondering how big of an effect it will have

It will make your braking zone longer than Pari's and he will fly by you on corner exits. Scarey thought, eh?
