Default Position Wanted on East Coast

I know there are many people new to this board and there might even be a few that remember me. I used to live in Alexandria and moved to TX 5 years ago. To be honest I have not been here in quite a while as I am a bit immersed in the local groups.

My wife and I have discussed moving back toward the East Coast. The move would be mostly to move closer to friends and family. While we enjoy Austin our hearts belong back East. Obviously, one can not relocate without employment. This is where you come in. I am hoping you may know or know someone who is looking to hire in the new year. Obviously, you may not have a contact that fits my particular skills but one must need to ask the question before obtaining an answer.

I am happy to forward a resume/CV to anyone for more information. My skills are centered primarily around science applications and program management. My degrees are in Chemistry. In addition, I have a diverse background related to materials science, physics and many areas of overlap specifically in surface science and nanotechnology. I have extensive experience writing and executing research grants and contracts (gov't and private). My experience also bridges the gap between the basic science, R&D and technology transfer. I am called upon as a technology consultant for new ideas. I report directly to the CEO of my current employer and manage two specific but synergistic groups within the company.

There are many details that are purposely left out of this initial contact. I will elaborate upon request.

I appreciate everyone that took the time to read the post. Please let me know if you have any contacts for me to follow up with.

I can also be reached offline (jamie (dot) novak (at) hotmail (dot) com)

Happy New Year.

I would think with your skills, a "hook up" would not be necessary in DC, as many companies would be looking to hire you. SAIC, Northrup, Lockheed come to mind. Good luck.

Jamie! Whats up brother! Great to hear from you.

If you are eligible for a security clearance, there are a lot of jobs out here in NoVA, DC and MD. Do you have any IT or networking experience. Let me know.....

Hi Guys,

So far the search has not been successful. Lots of ads, lots of resumes sent, no execution on the hiring front. However...

Does anyone work at or have a contact at Mitre? Saw an interesting job in the Post.

reference 13125BR - Nanopower Systems Scientist/Engineer.

I applied but want to make sure my CV ends up in the right hands.

David, Pari. Good to hear from you guys. Yes, It would be good to move back. No IT experience but Clearance should not be a problem other than I don't have one. I had a facility clearance at NRL but that does not count for much after all these years.

Jamie
