Thanks for the input, guys. VG, I forgot to get the numbers - will do.

The seat is easier to get in and out of than other Halo seats, and I did try it (in the car) with equipment on, but of course no roll cage yet. Here's a photo of a similar seat (my seat, the "45 series," isn't on their web site yet). The bottom is different - flatter for road racing (this seat is for short-track racing). It doesn't seem as "containing" as Kurt's seat (even before he extended the containment with his mad welding skilz), but more so than Nadir's seat. If you look carefully, the left side of the halo extends a little less than the right side, to make ingress/egress a little easier. Speaking of which--hey LANE, did you know Chuck worked on your car before I mentioned anything? We were down there talking about how to attach my new fenders, and he started telling the story of your car--I said "was that Lane's car?" (and he said "yes").

Yup, I know Chuck. Also know the boys next door at Lufteknic. I'd say between those two, they know my car pretty darn well.

Update:
TR and I picked the car up from Piper Motorsport yesterday and drove it to Richmond for the body work. We've decided (with encouragement from TR) to use the quick-release attachments for the fenders. It won't help with the initial work - about as much work as welding them on - but if I bang them up, it will make fixing/replacing them much easier, and might, just might, limit damage to the rest of the tub.

The cage is wonderful, and Mitch and his guys were able to put Nascar door bars in and still allow me to raise and lower the driver's window for trips to the track. They also remounted the driver's seat, and I'm so low that I joked about need a phone book to sit on (but it's just a joke, because I'm probably still closer to the roof than most).

So now I have a straight frame and a great cage, and in a few weeks will have a completed sunroof delete, fixed rear fenders, and fresh paint.

I sourced a rear FG bumper after returning home last night (Thanks, Dave), and also a front oil cooler (thanks, Kurt), and now need a front fiberglass bumper (if someone has one, chime up, otherwise I may be forced to buy new) and need to put everything together. Rear sway mounts are toast, and my source for WeVo's can't find his, so if anybody has a pair of THOSE laying around, also let me know. For some reason, my wife doesn't want to give me car stuff for the holidays...I'm hoping Ben will give me a transmission rebuild and LSD, though

Are quick release fasteners allowed in "stock" class? Perhaps I just can't picture what you are saying.. Looks good though!

I have an official email that says the way we are going to do it is legal (it gives no advantage for weight or driveability). Thanks, Lane, for breaking the ice on this!

Doesn't look like you did nascar bars on passenger side ? If not remember that door needs it's skin and all components for it to be stock legal.
Looks like it is coming along great.

PO widened rear fender flairs by "unwinding" lip to make slightly wider flair. Nice but scrut says no to wider flairs in stock classes even with proper width wheels. I thought he should just have that trimmed, rear quarter panel repaired and a new lip installed.

He knows and still has panels.

The picture of the cage leaves a lot to be desire because it does not show any detailes of the lay out. One of the main reasons that I am considering custom cage is to remove the dash and move the A-pilar down tube as frorward as possible. Looks like that yours does not do that.

While it does move the A pillar down tube far forward it does not intrude on the dash. Not anywhere near as much room behind dash on 911 than there is on '44s. Plus the dash on 911s is split and CR rules may prohibit passing through.
