Taylor is the only one who has worked on the car when me or my friends can't do the work. Great guy, and would recommend him to anyone.

Default Corner Balance and Alignment at German Auto Group

I got my car back from German Auto Group on Tuesday after the corner balance and alignment, and I am very happy with the results. The car drives & rides great!

The job took ~ 4 hours labor to set it up (he didn't have to remove the torsion bars to adjust, I had them close enough to use the swing plate adjusters).

Taylor was great; he spent about 25 minutes going over the set up/specs that he did on the car (I left it up to him, providing intended use vice specs) and told me to get in touch after I drive it to let him know if I was satisfied. No doubt - he will be the person I bring my car to if I run into projects that are beyond my skill level.

He is a bit backed up right now. When I called to schedule the work, they had a 2 week backlog - so take that into consideration if you are looking to have work done there (i.e. don't drop it off without scheduling and expect a quick turn). He got to it within a couple of days of when it was scheduled.

Overall, I was very pleased with Taylor and German Auto Group.

Back to German Auto Group and Taylor...

Thanks to the recommendations here, I took my 1999 Boxster that I just purchased to Taylor. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE! German Auto Group is a professional and friendly business, clean and organized. John was extremely helpful in gathering information for my car inspection, and spending a lot of time getting to know my Boxster and its needs.

The best part of my visit was Taylor! He spend about 20 minutes with me under the car on the lift and reviewed everything from front to back. Keep in mind this is my first Porsche. He was thorough, answered all my questions and earned my trust and confidence. Taylor knew of all the Boxster weak spots - CV boots, rear main seal leaks, suspension wear, etc. - off the top of his head. He knows Porsches! Then, he took me on a drive and I now realize how my Boxster should be driven.

The bottom line is Taylor recommended the maintenance and repairs I needed, and John coordinated it all. German Auto Group's prices are a lot less than quotes I received at the local dealer, and Taylor and team did a better job to boot!

I highly recommend Taylor and German Auto Group!! Call John and he will help coordinate it all for you.

Chuck

Just echoing all of these comments, Taylor is a standup guy for sure and does right by people.

here's my $0.02. they wanted 96 per hour for the PPI on my 996 (three hour minimum). i went to rich in arlington who's worked on my '88 targa and paid $135 for the 996 PPI. I knew GAG had a great rep, which is why I called first, but I ended up with POA based on price and knowing rich a little bit.......

I stopped by the other day and spoke to one of their mechanics about it; he seemed very knowledgable and helpful. Considering going with them, but would like to hear if anyone else has any experience with them.

Thanks, Gordo
Gordo,

Their Porsche mechanic, Taylor, is great to work with. He's the only person that we trust with our P-cars, and he does a wonderful job. Charges a fair rate to $90/hr and will basically do whatever you ask him to. He's more comfortable working on stock cars, but will tinker with aftermarket stuff as well.
