Default New Posts Timing Out

Jazz,

Don't know exactly how to describe this issue but...

I like using the "new posts tab" But, whenever I stay more than 10-15 mins on any particular thread, like one that has say, 20 mins of video to watch, trying to return to the "New Posts" results in a wash away of what is often a long list of threads I didn't get to read.

Can you lengthen the time out on this feature?

TIA,

Rich, try using the "Today's Posts" feature when this happens. That will show you the threads that have activity in the last 24 hours.

Yeah, I know that is an option and use it in these situations.

Its sub-optimal though because you can't use the feature to get to the "first unread post," which is why I like using the New Posts tab.

I know exactly what you're talking about, but unfortunately I can't easily change that time out limit. I've run into this before and adopted the practice opening "New Posts" in one browser tab, and then opening all the threads in other tabs. When done reading the thread, go back to the original tab and the new posts list is still there.

That'll work... didn't think about opening in new tabs.

Well, it's really easy on a Mac - just hold down the "Command" key which clicking the "unread posts" icon.

Even easier on a PC - click on the link with the middle mouse button (usually the wheel). See how easy life is when you're allowed to use a big-boy mouse?

BTW, on a PC you can ctl-click on links to open in different tabs, too. But why make things harder like they do with Macs?
