This is terrible. I had heard something about a multi-car incident, but did not realize it was this serious. Interestingly, while helping out in the pits I had asked a question to Alan and Kevin about the "gentlemen's rule" and there is certainly no consistency and depends on the person. I can only imagine how frustrating the situation must be for both drivers.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. You're the BEST for an instructor, I thought we worked will together. I had FUN!

As a relatively new comer to the DE game my approach, like with most things in life, has been. You gotta pay to play. Your'e going out to drive your car in what most people see as an irresponsible matter. If you can't afford to completely lose the car, due to your fault or someone elses, then you probably shouldn't be driving it on a track. OR you really need to refresh your track insurance policy.
That is at least the reasoning behind my 944 purchase, instead of trying to continue doing DE's with the Subaru for now. It's a shame that an incident occurred on track, even worse that an instructor was involved. At the end of the day mistakes happen though. It is a shame that the party that caused the incident didn't immediately track down anyone involved and apologize / help out. I certainly wouldn't say I am shocked though. I agree with Greg. If I collect a GT3 or even a newer Honda you will probably be in for a heart felt apology and any assistance I can help with a DIY repair. I'm not rich enough to be repairing other peoples toys.

I went to a Ferrari/Lambo/Maserati event once and I found myself practicing my heartfelt apology in the paddock.

But, that's really not the point of my post - shit happens on the track. We know this, it's part of the hobby. No, the part that pisses me off the most is NOT what happened on track, which is one thing, but how the guy who caused the accident handled it afterward. I was there for the aftermath and saw it firsthand. And it was bullshit. No one, including the driver who got his car totaled, expected this guy to come over with his checkbook in hand. BUT - you put someone into a wall and total their car because you screw up and don't even have the class to come over an apologize? BTW, I didn't hear it from a friend, or know some guy who knows some guy. I was there, I saw it with my own eyes. The guy who caused the incident was far more concerned about his own car than the guy he punted. That's horseshit, and I'll call it the way I see it. It was very similar to the same situation at the Club Race when Lane got punted by the jackass in the cup car. No apology, no nothing - and we all knew whose fault it was. Quote:

I am surprised. My car was hit in the paddock at VIR by another PCA member (rather minor). The guy left me a note and found me to apologize and gave me his card to contact him about the repair. I might expect classless asshats at a SCCA event to not own their behavior and that is why I don't play with them anymore. It is how one acts when shit goes wrong that illustrates the quality of their character.
