Default Need 993 rear disk ASAP - prefer used

All,

I had a nut come loose and the upper control arm came loose and ground the back side of my brake rotor.

Big Reds are in the mail, but not here yet. I have an autocross on Sunday, so, I need safe brakes.

Does anyone have a used (end of life is okay) rear rotor for a 993 that I can rent for a couple of weeks for like $25 or so?

Bob

Got any pics? How severe is it? Could be perfectly usable still...

I don't have pics, but, I saw quite a bit of metal shavings. Of course, they probably came from the shield/backing plate. Hmmm. When I am in there today replacing the nut, I will have a close look at the rotor. Maybe not disaster after all.

Bob,
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. But if its a single not-too-bad(deep) groove, I think you'll be just fine. As long as it hasn't cracked the rotor, or caused ugly, irregular sized chunks to be whacked off, it should be fine.

Rotor has a groove, but drivable. Control arm is pretty bad though. The metal around the ball joint is ground down pretty bad. No autocross for me .

Sorry to hear you won't make it, but happy you were able to diagnose it. Stuff happens.

Does someone make slotted rotors for a 993? I'm thinking of selling my Big Reds, going back to stock, powder coating them red and using slotted rotors if I can find them. Replacing pads and rotors on Big Reds is prohibitively expensive.
