Default Death of Minh Nguyen

Don't know exactly where to post this, but thought I would here. I was notified yesterday by Jennifer from IMA that Minh Nguyen passed away. Minh was one of the original guys at Autothority and then started Autothority Pitstop in Chantilly. Minh was well known within the Porsche community for his work on development of tuning chips. Most of the people that have Porsche shops in this area worked with Minh at one time or another. Many shops in the area continued to work with Minh for their electronic tuning needs.

Services are scheduled for Friday September 18, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032, (703) 425-9702.

I'll try to post more information as I learn more.

Unhappy He'll be missed

We knew Minh many years ago when he had “Porscha Pitstop” on Eisenhower Ave by the new access road. He offered to “sponsor” us when we started doing Auto-x regularly. A big deal for n00bs just starting out. Later offered us a ’88 944 and spocership if we wanted to turn it into a track car. He sold us our ’87 Targa and first 356. Lovely wife and 2 young kids back then, proly early teen or just about now. Lost touch after he moved Pitstop to a different location on Eisenhower Ave., switched emphasis more toward imports (Performance Pitstop then) and brought in a different “sales crew.”
Minh worked at Autothority with Al Collins and eventually bought the business several years after Al retired. Relocating to Dullas a year or so ago.
One of our favorite memories is talking with him after he returned from Germany about all the cool things he saw and did with some of the Euro tuners.
All around standup guy, good business man, good family man, great mech and damm good friend!! I only wish I’d taken the time to walk across the parking lot to say “hey” after the IMA Tech earlier this year.

I'm saddened to hear of this. He did some great work on my 944T earlier this year while Pitstop was still in Alexandria. Fixed a lot of small issues he found in the car for free as well.
