Sure that isn't from when you brake checked me in that NASA race years ago? I did get kinda close

Is NJMP worth the tow/tolls to drive? I've been there three times now as a spectator, but never to drive. I can't make up my mind. Some of it looks pretty fun, the rest kinda blah.

Worth going just for the smooth surface. They let the track cure for many weeks after laying the asphalt last year, and it sure was a nice surface. I enjoyed it a lot (only been on Thunderbolt). Repeat event with Delaware PCA this year. It's their ONLY track event, and a very nice one at that.

Europro's is down the street from me so I'll ask if they might have luck with a dentless, suction cup method on the rear. The area just behind the door would require removal of the cage (it's a bolt-in) to access, so would take a lot of time, plus I think it's double-walled in that area. It might be something they can pull out and make it look half-way decent.

Surprisingly, my wife it taking it a lot better than I am.
Late last year I met a tire wall on lap 3 of sprint 1. Thought the weekend was over. They guys a Performance Auto Works at Summit Point took the car to their shop for about an hour and a half, aligned it and cleaned it up. I ran the enduro the next day.

It's amazing what can be done.

While we all sat around feeling sorry for Hunt... Billy and Rich used a rubber mallat and got medieval on his car. I was amazed how good it looked 2 hours later. A quick alignment and he was right back in the race the next day. Would have even beat me if he didn't have a 8 minute pit stop

Mike,
That's not your paint on my quarter panel. Your's is on my rear bumper.

I'd say Thunderbolt is a fun DE track, but honestly it isn't my favorite to race on. Really busy so little time to relax and very difficult to pass on. This made guys take high-risk opportunities to force a pass. It's very easy to drive a defensive line and keep someone behind you.

The track surface is really nice except for the exit from the pit lane. They really botched the transition over the first chicane and it's a significant hump.

Hunt, pretty cool to know it's possible to work those dents out without repainting.

Here's a video of the first (I think) sprint race start from my vantage point (~mid-pack as opposed to KJ's front-of-pack). I really didn't want to go through that mud bog at T1.

Fixed that for you.

I did win that one. It's the only one so let me have it

Nice! That's some dicey stuff with a few poorly placed wet spots! Makes for some great video though!

Wow! That 1st turn looked like a classic fuster cluck.

FWIW, I actually liked Thunderbolt the one time I went last year. Worst thing about that race was the paddock grass was still mud, and vehicles were only allowed on pavement. Parking was beyotch!..

The track is fun and technical, but passing is difficult. But I guess that adds to the challenge. Blind trackout of T1 and the Octopus were my biggest problems, and never did get close to 100% on either. But I would definitely go back. I think it would be a very fun DE; the overall facility is very nice (including the State's employee that pumps the gas for you. )
