I've never seen anyone look for a cat during VA inspections. I sure hope the O2 wire in my SSI's gets me out of that. Doesn't VA stop after 25 yrs. regardless of manufacture year?

I put my 73 van under historic. The restrictions were about 2k miles per year. You could drive to and from car shows and to and from car repair facility.
Basically they are so vaguely written that you have carte blanche. If you are ever stopped, you are going to or coming back from a repair shop.
As far as I know these restrictions for historic have not changed. And I don't think inspection repair orders can be applied to historic (ie. open exhaust, no windshield, no headlights etc)

with these cars you also get to have those pesky speedometer cables which seem to "stay broken" for 10 mos per year, not to mention those darn plastic odometer gears which *can't* be replaced... at this rate, who knows how long 2000 miles really is?

It was on a Carrera, but after I failed I changed the plugs, cap, rotor and air filter and it passed.
