Default It's been kind of quiet here lately - Here's what I'm doing

I just got my 915 back from Intersport after they replaced the leaky seal and all synchros. While the 915 was in the shop, I pulled off the clutch, press plate and flywheel. The clutch disc was nearly worn down to the rivets and the main seal on the engine, behind the flywheel was leaking. On the other end of the engine, it also looks like the seal behind the pulley was leaking, too. I sent the flywheel out for resurfacing and ordered a pair of new seals. The engine tin, the intake valve covers and the fan have been sent out for powder coating. Can you say "Bling?"

I noticed last night that an adapter that screws into the MFI pump and mates with an oil hose was loose. It turns out the threads on the MFI pump are stripped. I'm not sure how to fix that yet and I posted a thread on Pelican Parts BBS about this.

Anyway, I've been busy but so much is still left to do.

Make sure Intersport shows you your old synchros, or else they may still be in the tranny.

Hey Jim, You have been busy. I haven't been up to much with the P-car. I have a ton of stuff to do, but Michele and I just got a puppy.

Some how, I managed to blow the run circuit on my permatune. The car would start, but as soon as the key hit the run position it would die. So I figured this was a good time to go to pointless igition, the permatune lasted almost 20years.

I installed a Crane XR700 last night, and it started right up. Quick check of the timing and no more points to adjust. I'm gonna clean up my install tonight and take it for a test drive.

If anyone was thinking of this project, it took less than two hours, and I got the unit from Summit Racing for under $100 with shipping. The only catch is you have to have a newer tach to run with the XR700.

Uuh, I've already picked it up and didn't ask for the old synchros. So, Richard, what are you trying to tell me?

Justin, that sounds like a great project. Maybe one for the 73E later in the Summer.

Just a reminder. Had the previous owner of my Carrera asked them for his original G50 clutch parts they had charged him $2700 to replace, he would have caught them in a lie. As you know firsthand, our local clique did the first clutch job on that car.

Just got the car inspected, so now I am legal and back on the road. Lots of ground related problems from sitting so long. I had to take out all of the rear engine harnesses and reinstall. New cd box, coil, rotor, etc. I just realized that I only put 4k miles on the car last year while driving around looking for trouble....so how about another fun run in between rainstorms? I promise not to break down again(Is that statement the kiss of death?) My project list at this point goes on for pages...so if I start I will be history for months.

Heads up...I posted earlier about the recaro srd's. According to RPM Motorsports, Recaro will stop making them in July. I just ordered mine.

Greg,

The P/C's are at EBS for replating and 9.8:1 JE's. I should have those back by the end of the month. Until then I still have to button up the suspension and prep the case. Once the P/C's come in, I'm anticipating a good 3 weeks for the build and hopefully by the end of July - mid August she should be going on her break in drive
