To start I need heat exchangers for a 1979 911sc targa.Mine have rust and the heat pans seems to be hidding oil and god knows what else in it (fire hazard)
I wanted to change the muffler/exhaust so when I took it off I broke the catalytic pipes. So now i have a new muffler and a new test pipe. Now after trying to take the highly rusted bolts at the "cat/heat exchange" flange, the pipes at the heat exchange cracked,so now I have to change the heat exchangers. I am stressing about that job too since now the bolts/alen holding the heat exchangers are badly rusted too and if they broke I'll be facing a mess.I will try to heat them with a torch and hope for the best unless you guys have faced this prob before and have some tips. thank you again and again for your help

SSIs and 2 in one or two out work really well and add some HP. Some including me have used HE we can sell you. But we have them because we replaced them with SSIs. Mine would be $200 for both left and right side HE.

Rick V has had luck with this. It's a heat and soak. A lot of guys here like PB Blaster. Welcome to the world of 911 exhaust systems. Are you going for stock or are you going to mod it? Stock will be a lot cheaper since a lot of guy remove them to go to a modified system. I have everything except a cat which, if I were you, I'd go with a bypass anyway since its the cheapest way to boost HP.
You have a thin flange system, I believe? (the heat exchangers)
