Hey guys, my sister has decided to move to NoVA (10 minutes from DC I think) for a job for at least two years, and I've been contemplating on moving with her, since I can't stand living with my brother and sometimes my parents (it's an asian thing...). I have a degree in business management, but enjoy metals fabrication and some mechanics more than an office job. Where can I find some local listings for jobs? Thanks!

Try the washington post, Washington DC has alot to offer in the way of jobs. If its mechanics that you're interested in, drop me a PM. The Mercedes dealership that I write service for is always in recruiter mode for techs. If your just getting started as a professional tech we have an outstanding apprenticeship program. Good luck in your decision!! Mike

It's 14 degrees here, icey and snowy, streets are slippery, arctic winds blowing, and today you're thinking of leaving Hawaii

First thing to do is send your car over so you have something to drive when you come out for a visit...oh and you can leave it at my house when you go back
AOL (AOHELL) is hiring again after laying off 750 people. It may be better to get a job with a big coroporation so they can pay to have you and your car relocated. Then quit and do what you really want to. There are quite a few jobs in the area especially for those who have government experience. As suggested earlier, the Washington post is a good place to look as well as Monster.com. Good luck! -Dan 1970 911T |

Thanks guys! Yeah...the snow part isn't exactly turning me on...especially since I was in MD last April to end of August; the 39 degrees one morning was the coldest I've ever felt. Not too sure I want to go there now... I've tried monster but there's nothing I like on it. I'll give the washington post a shot. Thanks!

Call Dixie Sheet Metal works. (703) 533-1111. They are 10 min from DC in Falls Church VA and are hiring metal fab mechanics. You will need to have some experence.
BTW. You'r nuts to want to come here... I would live with Lucefer to stay in Hawaii right about now. (Thats no big jump for me as I have a 14 month old and a pregnant wife to live with now)

If you're into baseball, the new Nationals are hiring for all kinds of jobs up and down the corporate ladder. Lots of applicants, but I suspect many are lacking in qualifications beyond enthusiasm.
